Processing soil samples for the retrieval of multiple lines of evidence

A number of biological remains can be retrieved on the actual excavation site. Others must be retrieved by processing samples back at the lab in a number of floatation or reduction methods. These remains are then identified, and interpreted with respect to their known habitats and environmental implications. Other variables are measured through chemical or physical property tests, and often sampled spatially.
